The festival plays host to 25 of the North East’s best street food vendors, as well as boasting craft cocktails and local brews.

One of those vendors is Big Fat Indian Kitchen. A spkoesperson said they “do things bold, messy and full of flavour.” They added: “Feastopia is all about celebrating great food, and we can’t wait to feed the hungry crowds with our unapologetically big, bold, and delicious Indian-inspired grub.”

If a savoury option doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are plenty of sweet treats to enjoy.

YumYaba is a bubble waffle truck known for its Dubai chocolate-inspired bubble waffle, which the owners report “has been a hit among our customers.”

More than just the food, the festival is also advertising eating challenges and cook-off competitions, just in case you’re chasing a bit of competition this weekend.

There will also be informative talks about food by some “well-known food influencers.”

Promising to keep the energy alive, there will be live bands and DJs performing across the weekend.

In case the weather isn’t on your side, the organisers promise a giant heated tent, so the festival can be enjoyed no matter what the weather decides to do.

The food isn’t the only attraction, as on Sunday, Times Square is also hosting Funtopia, which is a fun day for kids and adults, featuring characters, sing-a-longs, a glow party, face painting, balloon modelling and music for the whole family. Under twos go free, with tickets for children for only £3 and tickets for adults for £5. The festivities will go on from 9:30am until 12:30pm.
